End of Year SMARTR Outcome

By June 2019, all students will show growth in the areas of being a communicator and creative and critical thinking, as measured by the POG communicator rubric when compared to the mid-year data. 

All students will be able to identify their strengths as a communicator and as a creative and critical thinker. They will able to list next steps for continuing to grow in this area.

  • Strategy 1: Intentionally plan for incorporating the POG attributes of being a communicator and critical and creative thinking when unpacking math and language arts standards
  • Strategy 2: Make POG attributes of being a communicator and critical and creative thinking visible and interactive for all students
  • Strategy 3: Make the language of POG attributes of being a communicator and creative and critical thinking explicit for students

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

By June 2019, the gaps between students sub groups and the overall pass rate on the math SOL will be no larger than 10% (Asian, Black, Economically Disadvantaged, English Language Learners, Hispanic, Students with Disabilities, White).

  • Strategy 3: Incorporate new math materials (Origo, Discover, Cue Think) into core math instruction

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

At least 80% students who are assessed to be one year or more below grade level in September 2018, according to the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment, will increase by at least 1.5 grade levels by June 2019.

  • Strategy 1: Strategy instruction professional development focus during collaborative learning team meetings
  • Strategy 2: Strategy Instruction during guided reading at least 3 days per week
  • Strategy 3: Previewing and selecting appropriate materials to support strategy instruction during language arts

100% of students at Kings Glen will experience a supportive classroom culture and develop positive relationships with their teachers and classmates.
