These are exciting times, this year, in Mrs Rode's 6th grade class.  The Annual Ronald McDonald Civic Project roared to a big finish, early this month, when students collected their goal weight, far ahead of schedule.

Setting their goal at 65 pounds,  the Crew created an ambitious 5 pounds over the last year's class goal.  In all, they have more than 68 pounds.   Each week the "Rode Crew" heads to other classroom to collect any pop tabs that have accumulated.  While many students all over Kings Glen brought in pop tabs, the bulk was collected by the 6th graders themselves.

Students explained that the pop tabs will be melted down for their metal and sold. The profits benefit Ronald McDonald House of Northern Virginia, a program that helps families stay close-by sick family members in need of regular hospital care.
