Ms. Rode Named FCPS 2019 Outstanding Elementary Teacher!

Congratulations to Sixth Grade Teacher Lisa Rode who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the FCPS 2019 Outstanding Elementary Teacher!

lisa rodeMs. Rode's contagious enthusiasm for learning, dedication to innovative lessons, and commitment to each student’s success drives her instruction. In her risk-free classroom community, students truly believe that they can achieve at high levels. Ms. Rode has found ways to integrate programming, robotics, and engineering into core curriculum within an inclusive sixth grade classroom to include programming robots to demonstrate integer operations; designing rovers to simulate planetary exploration; and participating in “Skype a Scientist” to interface with scientists from around the country. “Through her extensive interest in and passion for STEM, her total devotion to student engagement, and her dedication to fostering communication and creative thinking skills,” said a teammate, “Ms. Rode transforms how both students and staff at Kings Glen learn.”
