End of Year SMARTR Outcome

Student Success- Reading

The overall unadjusted pass rate of students passing the Reading SOL will increase from 84% to at least 90% pass rate.

  • Strategy 1: All students will have access to high quality core language arts instruction.  Core instruction includes differentiation, scaffolding, and re-teaching on an ongoing basis.
  • Strategy 2: MTSS will use progress monitoring and data to make informed instructional decisions.

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

Student Success - Vocabulary and Critical and Creative Thinking

The pass rate for English Learners and Students with Disabilities will increase by 10 percent* in each subject area when comparing unadjusted pass rates from 2018-2019 School Year to 2019- 2020 School Year.

  • Strategy 1: All teachers will proactively plan with vocabulary tiers in mind for all content subjects.
  • Strategy 2:  All staff will have professional growth experiences related to vocabulary instruction and critical and creative thinking strategies.

Caring Culture - Attendance

The SOA Chronic Absenteeism rate will decrease to 4% (2019-2020).

  • Strategy 1: On a routine basis, Kings Glen staff will proactively respond to frequent student absences and tardies
  • Strategy 2: Kings Glen will continue to create a welcoming school environment and increase parent outreach and family support.
